Check In & Check Out Day

The first day at camp is an exciting one! Whether your camper has been to camp before or it’s their first time, there are plenty of emotions and nerves that campers can feel when they get to camp. We do our best to get campers into the swing of camp as quickly as possible!

Check In Day!

Monday drop-off runs from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m

If you are planning on driving to camp, camper drop off is between 11am-12:30pm. Driving time, on average, is 3.5 hours from the Bay Area. You can find driving directions to camp here. If you will be arriving later than 12:30pm, please give us a call so we can have someone ready to greet your camper!

Bus transportation is also available from the Bay Area with pick up sites in Palo Alto, Larkspur and Lafayette. To learn more about transportation you can click here. About half of campers choose to take the bus to camp.

When you arrive:

  • You will go through our counselor greeting line and meet the camp directors! Your camper will get a name tag with their name and cabin and meet their counselor!
  • From there, you will check in with the healthcare team. All campers must check in with the healthcare team and if your camper will be taking medication or supplements at camp, they will check in their medication. Please make sure to pack medications in their original containers and in a ziplock bag to make checking-in go smoothly! Our healthcare team is unable to accept unlabeled or unidentifiable medication.
  • Bags will be dropped in their designated cabin area and campers begin the bonding process! Families are welcome to tour site and see the cabins, but we ask that families do not set up their camper’s bunk. Once all campers in a cabin have arrived, they will move in together and choose bunks then. Counselors will help campers move their bags and set up bunks.
  • After check-in, campers will eat lunch with their cabin, take a camp tour, have a cabin meeting, and get a cabin photo before heading into activities for the day!
  • The Mountain Camp store will be open during check-in!

Check Out Day!

Saturday pick-up runs from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Our check out days are pretty simple! We start off the morning with some activities before packing up and cleaning cabins.

We enjoy a final all camp lunch before saying our goodbyes. Campers taking the bus back to the bay area will leave immediately after lunch, and pick-up begins at 1:30pm. If you are picking your camper up early, please email or call the office so we can have them ready to go!

Families are welcome to take a tour around camp with your camper and walk around the site to see all the great places they made memories in during their time at camp.

Please call the camp if you will not be on time, a late pick-up can be upsetting to your camper.

Please note: leashed and well trained pets are welcome at camp! We love meeting everyone’s furry friends!
