- Names

Sensitive information. When necessary, with your consent or as permitted by applicable law, we may process limited sensitive information — such as a camper’s health information — solely to provide safe care during camp. We do not collect or process sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
All personal information you provide must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes.
Information automatically collected
In short: Some information — such as your IP address and/or browser and device characteristics — may be collected automatically when you visit our Services.
This information does not reveal your specific identity but may include device and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, country, and information about how and when you use our Services. This is primarily used to maintain the security and operation of our Services and for internal analytics and reporting. This may include log and usage data, device data, and approximate location data derived from your IP address.
2. How Do We Process Your Information?
In short: We process your information to provide, improve, and administer our Services, communicate with you, for security and fraud prevention, and to comply with law.
We process your personal information to:

- Respond to inquiries and provide support
- Send administrative information, including updates to our terms and policies
- Send marketing and promotional communications, in line with your preferences (you can opt out at any time)
- Evaluate and improve our Services, marketing, and your experience
3. When and With Whom Do We Share Your Personal Information?
In short: We may share information in limited situations described below.
- Service providers. We may share your information with vendors and service providers who perform services for us (such as payment processing, registration software, email delivery, and customer support) under a written contract.
- Business transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with a merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.
4. Do We Use Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies?
In short: We may use cookies and similar technologies to collect and store your information.
We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to gather information when you interact with our Services. Some are necessary to maintain the security and basic functioning of the site and to remember your preferences.
You can manage or refuse cookies through the cookie banner on our website (typically accessible via a “Cookies” or “Cookie Settings” link), and through your browser settings. If you disable cookies, some parts of the site may not function properly. Note that some third-party scripts may set their own cookies from their servers.
Google Analytics. We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our Services for internal analytics and reporting. To opt out of being tracked by Google Analytics, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. For more information, see the Google Privacy & Terms page.
5. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
In short: We keep your information only as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this notice, unless a longer period is required by law.
We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes described here, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax or accounting requirements). When we no longer have a legitimate business need to process your information, we will delete or anonymize it, or securely store and isolate it if deletion is not immediately possible.
6. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?
In short: We aim to protect your personal information through reasonable organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect your personal information. However, no electronic transmission over the internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk, and you should only access the Services within a secure environment.
7. Do We Collect Information From Minors?
In short: Our website and registration are directed to parents and guardians, not to children.
Mountain Camp is a summer day camp that serves children, but our website and online registration are intended to be used by parents and guardians, not by children. We do not knowingly allow children to register themselves or submit their own personal information online.
When a parent or guardian registers a camper, they provide their child’s information directly and consent to our processing of that information for the purpose of operating the camp. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 online, consistent with the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and we do not sell or share children’s personal information.
If you believe a child has provided us personal information without parental consent, please contact us at [email protected] and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
8. What Are Your Privacy Rights?
In short: You may review, change, or request deletion of your information, depending on where you live.
- Withdrawing consent. If we are relying on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us. This will not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
- Opting out of marketing. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails, by replying “STOP” or “UNSUBSCRIBE” to our SMS messages, or by contacting us. We may still send you non-marketing, service-related messages.
No mobile opt-in data will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors who provide support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent.
If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, email us at [email protected].
9. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track (“DNT”) feature you can activate. Because no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals. California law requires us to disclose this; if a standard is adopted in the future, we will update this notice.
10. Do United States Residents Have Specific Privacy Rights?
In short: If you are a resident of California or certain other US states, you may have specific rights regarding your personal information.
Depending on the state where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know whether we are processing your personal data, and access it
- Correct inaccuracies in your personal data
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Obtain a copy of the personal data you previously shared with us
- Opt out of the processing of your personal data for targeted advertising, the “sale” of personal data, or certain profiling
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights
Our practices. We use personal information for our own business purposes, such as internal research and analytics; this is not considered “selling.” We have not sold or shared personal information with third parties for a business or commercial purpose, and we do not sell or share the personal information of website visitors, registrants, or other consumers.
California “Shine the Light.” California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits California residents to request, once a year and free of charge, information about categories of personal information we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Because we do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing, there is nothing to disclose; you may still submit a request using the contact details below.
How to exercise your rights. To exercise these rights, contact us by emailing [email protected] or by calling (415) 351-2267. We will verify your identity before responding. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, with valid proof of authorization. If we decline a request, you may appeal by emailing us at the same address; if your appeal is denied, you may contact your state attorney general.
11. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising. Because we do not engage in these activities, there is no opt-out required to stop them.
If this practice ever changes, we will update this notice and provide a clear “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on our website so you can opt out. In the meantime, if you would like to confirm your preferences or ask a question about how we handle your data, you can use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in our website footer or email us at [email protected].
12. Do We Make Updates to This Notice?
In short: Yes, we will update this notice as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by a revised “Last updated” date at the top. If we make material changes, we may notify you by prominently posting a notice or by sending a direct notification. We encourage you to review this notice frequently.

14. How Can You Review, Update, or Delete the Data We Collect From You?
You have the right to request access to the personal information we collect, details about how we have processed it, to correct inaccuracies, or to delete your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw your consent. These rights may be limited in some circumstances by applicable law. To make a request, email us at [email protected].
No mobile opt-in data will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
